Psychlone Linux Cluster Supercomputer by Psychsoftpc of Quincy, MA
Our Psychlone Cluster
Supercomputer line of Linux High Performance Computing
Clusters is ideal for any organization
wishing to add the power of supercomputing for a reasonable price. Designed around the best components
and latest Intel CPU's to offer value in
price/performance and based on Red Hat Linux (or optionally, FreeBSD
Unix or Debian Linux), the Psychlone Cluster line of Linux based Supercomputers for Node Based Parallel Processing High Performance
Computing (HPC) applications is available starting with 5 nodes and scaling from there.
With the latest in high performance Intel
multicore processors, lots of high
performance RAM per node,
connected with gigabit Ethernet, and scaling to hundreds of nodes, the Psychlone Cluster
Supercomputer makes HPC affordable.
Designed for computing intensive applications such as weather modeling, climatology, chemical modeling,
genetic research, graphics rendering, simulation and large digit mathematical problem
solving, (or just trying to find the answer to life, the universe and
everything) the Psychlone Cluster is well suited for Universities, Pharmaceutical
Companies, Weather Stations, Research Facilities, Engineering Facilities and Animation Producers.
And, continuing with our Open Source tradition, we are now
offering our Psychlone Clusters with Apache Hadoop. Hadoop is a Java-based
programming framework that supports the processing of large data sets in a
distributed computing environment. Hadoop is based on Google's MapReduce
algorithm, which breaks an application down into numerous small parts. Any of
these parts (also called fragments or blocks) can be run on any node in the
cluster. Hadoop makes it possible to run applications on systems with thousands
of nodes involving thousands of terabytes. A distributed file system (DFS)
facilitates rapid data transfer rates among nodes and allows the system to
continue operating uninterrupted in case of a node failure. The Psychsoftpc
Hadoop offering includes Cloudera抯 Distribution Including Apache Hadoop or CDH.
CDH delivers a streamlined path for putting Apache Hadoop to work solving
business problems in production. Ideal for enterprises seeking an integrated,
tested Apache Hadoop-based system without proprietary vendor lock-in, CDH is the
bridge between the experience of organizations using Hadoop in production and
the continuous stream of innovations from the Apache community.
Best of all, the Psychlone Cluster is
built and designed by the smart folks at Psychsoftpc, people with advanced degrees who have
been doing this sort of thing since 1987, when they developed artificial intelligence
natural language systems for such organizations as NIH. So if you wanted to get into
supercomputing, but thought you couldn't afford to, give us a (virtual) shout.
Oh, if you want to link to
Psychsoftpc, we'd appreciate it.
